ALABAMA
Alabama is a collaborative album of poetry and music by the great beat, surrealist poet Greg Foster (who has worked with Art Blakey, Thelonius Monk, Miles, Dizzy, Ron Carter and others) and internationally known jazzman, Joel Futterman (who has played with Sonny Stitt, Jimmy Garrison, Rahsaan Roland Kirk and others, and is currently recording and performing with "Kidd" Jordan, Alvin Fielder and others), distributed by Drimala Records. The design used on the CD is the logo created for Greg's company, Shipwreck, Ink. Virginia has a special feeling for this project inasmuch as she has written poetry all her life and read with Robert Creeley, Diana DiPrima, and others.
