When I first began seeking awards I asked myself "why?" Obviously, we who spend our time building these sites to reflect something of ourselves, our occupations, our passions enjoy receiving recognition. There is nothing better than a pat on the ego. However, there is more to it than simple recognition. This site does not display a plethora of awards, the reason being this webmistress does not apply for very many (not that she receives all for which application is made). Just as the awards sites have their criteria, so does Studio Valentine; the studio applies to sites it enjoys, aesthetically as well as what the site offers. I have learned so much thanks to the generosity of sites which offer tutorials. In an odd way, my application is a thank you regardless of whether or not I receive the award. Also, the studio is not interested in give-away awards...and a 2.5 site award with soul is far more gratifying than a 4.5 site award which exhibits arrogance. Therefore, regardless of the "rating" of a site's award, Studio Valentine appreciates each and every award equally, and every thank you is genuine:
