These photographs were taken at the opening of the Starr Hill Music Hall in Charlottesville, Virginia. The photos were taken without flash and later hand-colored in an effort the recreate the actual ambience of the light, including the lit sconces. The west side of this beautiful space was the previous home of Studio Valentine (five years) and had been an artists atelier for the previous twenty years. The present occupants have made major renovations in, I think, an extremely tasteful manner. After attending the Richie Havens and Cracker concerts this year, I would highly recommend a night out at the Music Hall.
